All the good shots are credited to Randy.  Damn, I need a DSLR.

  1. Thanks for posting pictures of my orange 1973 right hand drive Toyota Corolla Levin. It was mine and my bud Luis (Silver Corolla next to my car) first time at Cars and Coffee. Everyone was great. Lots of great cars.

    1. Big Mike,

It was great to see you guys out there, we need more of a vintage J-tin representation at C&C. Your KE25 is one of the nicest I've ever seen, but I was really shocked to see it was an auto - how does it handle the 18RG's power?

Hope to see you guys again soon.

    2. Hi Alan,
Thanks for the kudos. My car is actually a TE27 ("T" came with the 2"T"c or 2"T"g and the "K" came with the "K" engine). I converted it to auto because this car is a true daily driver (close to 1,000 miles per week) and the automatic trans is just so much easier when going bumper to bumper on the 405 freeway. The engine is the smaller brother if the 18RG (Its a 2TG 1600cc which is the original to this car since I imported it from Japan) so no problem with the transmission handling the power. I try to get the rest of the J-tin guys to come next time. Most of them are getting ready for the Toyotafest on May 5th (I will be there too) Thanks again.

You can also check out my other TE27 that I use for autocross and road racing. it have a monster port/brige 12A Mazda rotary engine in it. I drive it on the road, but Irvine is a little over an hour drive for me and it would be to much of a hassle to bring the car since I have to mix C16 fuel with 2 stroke oil every time I fill up.

    3. Thanks for the reply, Mike.

A bridgeported 12A in an old Corolla sounds like insane amounts of fun. Is that the one with the "hybrid - burns gas and oil" stickers?

Always wanted to make it up to Toyotafest, I've had a few AW11s over the years that I absolutely loved. I'll definitely be at the Japanese Nostalgic show in Long Beach. Anyway, glad to hear you're bringing some more friends down to C&C - like I said we need more of a J-tin representation!
