Phantom Idle - Fox Meets Coyote

16V OHV 5.0 begets 32V DOHC 5.0, 1986 greets 2012.

As if a Fox Body Mustang with a modern "Coyote" V8 isn't cool enough on its own, this one's been equipped with a "Ghost Cam".  Essentially it's been re-programmed to run the most aggressive cam profile at idle.  Despite the absolutely evil-sounding tickover, the car remains perfectly docile and tractable while pulling away - this is because above 1,000 RPM the ghost cam is deactivated so that the variable valve timing works normally through the rest of the rev range.

Super-cool.
