Perez at Monza - Whoa!!

What a performance.  Overcoming both raceday illness and a lowly 12th place starting position, he pulled away from Alonso at a staggering rate of about a second per lap for the last 7 of the race, ultimately placing 2nd behind Hamilton.

In a post-race interview, the legendary Niki Lauda removed his hat and bowed to the young Mexican, telling him he did "an incredible job."

If, as the rumors have it, he does indeed replace Massa's 2013 seat at Ferrari, Perez could quite possibly be the next World Champion - provided he is able to maintain the impressive momentum he's shown thus far.

I'm a big fan and wish him all the luck.
