The Secret Life of Formula One - 2003 Documentary

Spanning F1's formative pre-war years up to the V10 era.  Frequently focused on Williams, it nonetheless does a great job of encapsulating the entire sport throughout its history.

Presented with high production value, and in a just-technical-enough way, the film doesn't neglect the human element and avoids being dry or academic.  Through the use of insightful interviews and behind the scenes footage it provides a well-rounded view of the sport, beyond the specs, numbers and politics.  And though nearly a decade old, it doesn't really feel dated.  In short, it's a very good watch and definitely worth the time.
